Release Notes

What's new in Invoice to PDF. We ship improvements to the free invoice generator continuously — the latest changes are at the top.

August 14

Partial payments and balance due

Record a deposit or partial payment right on the invoice: add an "Amount paid" line and the PDF shows the remaining balance due — exactly what you need for 50%-upfront projects.

August 14

Tax and discounts: percentage or fixed amount

A small toggle next to the tax and discount fields switches between a percentage and a fixed sum in your invoice currency — whichever way you agreed it with your client.

August 14

Freelancer invoice generator

A dedicated page for freelancers: hourly, project and retainer invoicing with line-item examples by specialty and payment tips.

August 14

159 world currencies

The currency picker grew from 6 currencies to 159 — searchable by code or country name, with the most popular ones pinned at the top. Amounts format correctly for whichever currency you pick.

August 14

The Guides library

Ten plain-English invoicing guides went live — from how to create an invoice to payment terms and copy-paste invoice email templates. We also published our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.

August 13

Logo upload, auto-saved drafts and a Clear button

Add your logo to the invoice — it is stored only in your browser, never on our servers. Drafts now auto-save locally too: reload the page and your invoice is right where you left it. A new Clear button resets the sheet when you want a fresh start.

August 12

Homepage redesign

The homepage was rebuilt around the generator: a compact hero, a how-it-works section, an FAQ, and the invoice sheet front and center — fewer clicks between you and a finished PDF.

August 11

New name, solid foundations

The product became Invoice to PDF, living at a single canonical address — invoice-to-pdf.com — with proper metadata, a sitemap, fresh favicons and www redirects. Groundwork, but the kind that makes everything else work.

Invoice to PDF is born

First release: a free online invoice generator with an inline editor — fill in the sheet, watch totals calculate live, and download a professional PDF. No signup, no watermark, and your invoice data is never stored on our servers. That promise hasn't changed since day one.
